With an Italian surname like Tagliabue, I like to think I am more Italian than my actual ancestry has shown. That said, I have visited Italy twice. My ‘motherland’ is Lake Como. This affair was rushed and unplanned. It was undeniable, though, even with 10% of Italian heritage I felt like I was ‘home’. I returned to Europe a few years later and knew Italy had to be on the itinerary. It keeps calling my name. I really want to return for a few months and visit smaller villages and I would love to learn Italian.
